The president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, announced the creation of a free zone that will extend throughout the Amazon region in which tax incentives apply to the industry.
"The government has decided to extend the free zone of Manaus (Amazonas state capital) for 50 years from the date of maturity and we extend this model to the entire region," said Rousseff in a press conference in that city.
