+ Eden Taking advantage of my repose moving slow-motion this morning I browsed through several volumes of
Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side
, which reminded me that I was reading these last days the Macanudo
# 6 , and read a few days before the Eden
of
Kioskerman ... I'm like I am and I let it go without telling them. No way.
De
Liniers little I can tell not already been said: well you know my devotion to him. The openness with which mixes different registers humor and joy that permeates his work are well known to those who frequent this house. Henrietta, Olga, Madariaga, goblins and penguins ... all his characters move between surrealism, ingenuity and sheer absurdity. This sixth book published by Mondadori is as essential as any of the previous five and a perfect excuse to re-read them all pull ... and happy life.
Eden is something else, it seems that you profile when you stop to categorize and define .... Eden
is an artifact of delayed explosive lyrical. He stays inside, crouching, takes root in memory, always returning just one or the other image, when you least expect. The first pages of the book, edited with the usual care and Nonsense (that smell, oh so surprised ...), drawing primitive, but that feeling soon passes a background to disappear altogether as one enters in the world invented by
Kioskerman . The four vignettes of each strip work as the three lines of a haiku: millimeter, elliptical, suggesting much more than what they say. Eden
not like anything. Is abstraction, poetry, reflection, is a question that is open every fourth bullet. And account, nudity, some of the most beautiful stories I've read.
I'm still rebuilding the chaos in which he lived and I have plenty of paper for removing many things moving ... but I know I want to have certain qualifications or by hand: those of Liniers
and
Kioskerman (such as
Watterson and Larson
) are among them. Because life is easier that way.
